## Square of any Digit

In our previous post, we have discussed the shortcut trick, to find the square of two-digit numbers from 1 to 11. Now we are going to discuss another shortcut trick to find the square of any digit ending with 5.

#### Square of any Digit Ending with 5

Basically in Competitive Exams, if we find any question to find the square of numbers ending with 5 (25, 45, 65, 85, 135… etc) then we simply do it in two ways:

- Simply by Multiplying
- Using any other tricks

We should use special shortcut trick to find the square of this type of numbers.

##### Process to Follow

Let we want to find the square of 35 then what we will do

- First of
all we have to remove 5 from the given number - Then we have to add 1 with the remaining numbers.
- Then we have to multiply both the number.
- At
last we have to add 25 in the answer of previous multiplication.

Lets take a example to find the square of 35

- First of all, remove 5 from the number. ( 3
~~5)~~ - Add 1 with the remaining number. ( 3+1=4)
- Now multiply 3 × 4 = 12
- In the last step, we have to write 25 after previous multiplication result. ( 12 ↔ 25=1225)
- Here 25 is common to all the question.

Lets take another example to find the square of 65

- First of all, remove 5 from the number. ( 6
~~5)~~ - Add 1 with the remaining number. ( 6+1=7)
- Now multiply 6 × 7 = 42
- Write 25 after 42
Final answer is 4225- Here 25 is common to all the question.

**Find the square of 85**

- First of all, remove 5 from the number. ( 8
~~5)~~ - Add 1 with the remaining number. ( 8+1=9)
- Now multiply 8 × 9 = 72
- Write 25 after 72
Final answer is 7225- Here 25 is common to all the question.
